A little history

Tucker’s story goes back to at least 1891, when an eight-block grid was laid out around the railroad. For more than 100 years it was an unincorporated part of DeKalb County, with no mayor or city council, until residents voted to become a city in 2016. Some local institutions go back decades: Cofer Brothers started in Tucker in 1919, and Matthews Cafeteria has served the community since 1955.
