Established in 1812, Virginia Highland is an intown neighborhood known for its laid-back style, shops, restaurants, and 1920s homes. If you take a stroll down North Highland Avenue, you will find this quaint little neighborhood as casual, friendly, and welcoming. In the late 1800s, the Nine-Mile Circle streetcar made a loop of what is now Ponce De Leon Avenue, Virginia Avenue, and Monroe Drive. Residential development began with the streets of St. Charles and Greenwood Avenues. Virginia Highland intersects with Ponce City Market.
