Established in 1812, Virginia Highland is an intown neighborhood known for its laid-back style, shops, restaurants, and 1920s homes. In the late 1800s, the Nine-Mile Circle streetcar made a loop of what is now Ponce De Leon Avenue, Virginia Avenue, and Monroe Drive.
