Avondale Estates

Founded in 1924, Avondale Estates is a quaint neighborhood in Dekalb County located eight miles east of Atlanta. Only one mile in total square miles, this neighborhood was named after the birthplace of William Shakespeare and it’s known for its Tudor-style architecture. Avondale Estates hosts a weekly farmers market, features a historic downtown Tudor Village with comfort foods and local favorites, and is known for its close-knit community. Willis Park is one of the oldest parks in the neighborhood and features a picnic and events pavilion and playground equipment. Avondale Estates has been named one of the Best Old House Neighborhoods, as many homes remain standing and the original style preserved.
