Established in 1920, Ashview Heights is an intown neighborhood north of I-20 and west of the Atlanta University Center. The neighborhood is home to Booker T. Washington High School, which was Atlanta’s first African American High School. Ashview Heights has an established, active community association. The neighborhood’s residents pride themselves on knowing their neighbors and shopping locally. Residents would say they can always ask a neighbor for an extra cup of sugar or catch a friendly wave when walking down the street. The Westside Trail, a 3-mile-multi-use trail runs north of Ashview Heights and is a great way to enjoy some fresh, outdoor air. Located close to Booker T. Washington High School, you can find Local Green, a restaurant with a mission to provide healthier fast food options for local communities.
