Located at the intersection of east/west Ponce de Leon Avenue and north/southwest North Highland Avenue, is the Intown neighborhood of Poncey Highland. On the east-side of Atlanta , south of Virginia Highland this urban enclave was established between 1905 and 1930 it is bordered by Druid Hills and Candler Park across Moreland Avenue to the east, the Old Fourth Ward across the Beltline Eastside to the west, Inman Park across the eastern branch of Freedom Parkway to the south, and Virginia Highland to the north across Ponce de Leon Avenue. Since the1900s the architectural trend has favored the craftsman bungalow ,presently there is a legible range between traditional and contemporary homes and condominiums. There is certainly no shortage of restaurants in the neighborhood, one of the most notable is historic Manuel’s Tavern an Atlanta staple, Manuel’s tavern is a popular gathering among local political figures. Sweet Auburn BBQ, Tiny Lou’s, Two Urban Licks, Fellini’s Pizza, LaFonda Latina, and Soul Vegetarian to name a few. One of the more recent attractions over the last few years is the BeltLine, a multi-use corridor for walking and biking, which will eventually produce a light rail line is built on the old Southern Railway and tracks the western boundary of Poncey-Highland.
Poncey-Highland is small neighborhood with a vibrant big character, roughly two miles northeast of downtown this distinct and historic district preserves character and offers flexibility for residents and visitors alike. Poncey-Highland is home to the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, established in 1982. The Carter Center sits on what was once considered the neighborhood of Copenhill. There are several historic buildings in the Poncey Highland neighborhood some of which have reclaimed their glory through renovation into modern lofts or multi purpose structures.

American Industrial giant Ford Motor Company held an assembly plant (1916) that is now Ford Factory Lofts, a well desired and conveniently located urban oasis. Western Electric Company, Briarcliff Plaza - which contains the historic Majestic Diner, and Plaza Theater. Hotel Clermont, and its basement the Clermont Lounge - a landmark strip club which originally opened in 1965.
