Morningside

Historic Morningside, one of Atlanta’s “walkable neighborhoods” offers a popular nearby commercial district with a relatively easy commute to downtown. It is often called Morningside/Lenox Park because of the proximity of the two neighborhoods. This neighborhood offers an urban suburban feel with of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and parks.

Morningside was established in 1931. The majority of the homes were constructed between 1918 and 1935. With Craftsman, Four-Square and Tudor-style homes, the community features charming, tree-lined streets. With several streets named after early settlers, such as Luckie, Plaster and Cheshire, the area has its share of history. The Morningside Lenox Park Association was first organized in the 1960’s and is still active. Each year, the association hosts the Monumental Ball Piedmont Park Conservancy. Many residents participate in the Morningside Community Garden.

A space to connect with nature with shopping and great food, these are the elements of Morningside/Lenox Park.

Residents and visitors in this neighborhood enjoy the Morningside Nature Preserve which has more than 30 acres of natural green space. This area features a one-mile tree-lined walking path with a suspension bridge over Peachtree Creek.
